Melexis engineers microelectronic solutions, with a focus on semiconductors for the automotive industry. Making easy integrations with technology to make products smarter, safer and greener.
While Melexis is doing marvellous work on shaping the future with sustainable and durable high tech products, they were looking for a reliable partner to support them with their integration and customer experience. The main focus of this project was to support Melexis on their digital asset management and distribution. Each product comes with extensive manuals and documentation which are essential to the customers of Melexis. To help organize these documents and have these accessible for their customers and users we developed a customer portal and digital asset management (=DAM) platform to safely manage and distribute their documentation.
During this project Blastic supported Melexis in providing a total solution, which started with a technical analyses; finding the right digital asset management solution and UX design to development of the portal and integration with single-sign-on solutions. All with one goal in mind: providing a digital experience and customer service that fits a innovative tech company like Melexis.
For Melexis consolidating all assets into a single, centralized system is a crucial step toward optimizing their operations. But beyond simple management, the solution needs to be flexible and customizable to meet their unique requirements. This includes providing seamless access to manuals, guides, and specific software updates for the products Melexis offers to their customers.
A key aspect of this system is ensuring that each user who creates or uploads documents can do so only within the sections they are authorized to access. This level of control and customization is where Sitecore Content Hub truly shines, offering not just the necessary capabilities but also room for future enhancements.
In addition to serving as a Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, the platform needed to evolve into a comprehensive user portal. This portal would securely deliver files to end users, ensuring that only those with appropriate login credentials can access specific documents. With Sitecore Content Hub Melexis found the perfect solution to meet these needs while also laying a solid foundation for future growth and expansion.
Before starting the development of this solution, the project team with representatives of both Melexis and Blastic sat around the table and thought what the best solution could be. With many comparisons of different systems, Sitecore Content Hub was chosen as best suitable solution.
It is highly extendable, flexible and perfect to integrate with an already existing solution of the website.
Once the solution was chosen, the project team had to do multiple sessions to create the Content Model that was going to be implemented. The Content Modelling process is important to start with, to have all the right models and relationships between them.
It was also necessary to know how Melexis was intending to use the system. This led for a complex permission setup. Access was given to every Content Hub user to read all documents, only specific people got edit rights to section they are responsible for.
Blastic has setup the Content Hub environment with an implemented Content Modelling. Many requested features have since been added to the system to make it easier for the editors to find documents, see which one have changed, see the changes,…
The users of the portal will also be able to get notifications if new documents or even document versions are added that they can access. With this Melexis is able to interact more with their customers. Keeping them informed of changes and triggering them to come back to the portal as there source of knowledge.
After everything was set up, configured, and thoroughly tested the project team the project team conclude the successful fulfilment of the main objectives of the project. Despite the involvement of multiple systems, we were able to connect the ends and can conclude they now function seamlessly as one cohesive, harmonized solution. Documents are created and versioned within a centralized system, and this information is accessible for visualization in others—a significant advantage for both Melexis's Content Editors and their customers.
As the project reaches completion, the focus shifts to continuously enhancing and improving the solution. New features are already being conceived, and their implementation is ongoing.
